Aesthetic interactive Photo-aeoli-kinetic sculpture by Jeremusic installed on exhibition in France.

Hello! Today I thought I’d share an artistic moment with you as I’ve just completed the installation of a photo-aeoli-kinetic sculpture that I created for an exhibition in my town!
To clarify the title of the sculpture,
photo=light, aeoli = wind (caused by), kinetic = movement, so the sculpture is a combination of imagery in movement created by the interaction of light and shadows on a ‘screen’. I found the variability of colour and form to be very aesthetically pleasing.
You can watch the images change for a relatively long time and see new form and colour combinations continuously. As some part of the sculpture covers one or other of the three primary coloured light sources an infinity of variations of colour are produced.
At the same time the mobile forms are moved by the wind, (created by a PC fan and the press of a button) from viewer interactivity, so the audience is actually involved in the changing and creation of the moving image.
Nice!

Here’s a photo of the photo-aeoli-kinetic sculpture installation :

Hey! Not bad! I originally made a prototype on a  smaller scale and took some footage of it which I incorporated into a video with a musical composition of mine . I think the resulting audio-visual has a certain appeal…

Mind-Walk II from the album Sonic Illusions (Distributed via CD Baby an available for download on i-tunes, Deezer, Amazon, etc. etc.  :)
The concept of being creative in the arts has always been a part of my life. I took Maths , Physics and Chemistry as my subjects of advanced study at school and to fill my timetable I added Sculpture to the list (against the advice of my head-master who thought applied maths or tech-drawing might be more useful…)
So I had a two year stretch to discover the world of art and sculpture and got a top grade in my exam (along with good grades in my science subjects too of course!)
The interspersing of artistic creativity in my scientific and maths based days was I feel very beneficial. I learned a great deal in my physics class on colour combinations and was able to put that to direct use in my colour mixing sculptures that I did then (over 30 years ago!)
Light, lasers and colour theory were a part of my curriculum and I’ve never forgotten the data, and use it often. This latest sculpture is a sort of culmination of ideas that had been germinating for a while.
It was very gratifying to be able to upscale my original idea and make my sculpture interactive too! I think that adds a nice touch of audience participation…
I’d love to have your comments and feedback on this artwork, so let me know what you think!
